Certified Breathwork Facilitator Lisa Betz-Marquez leads this monthly circular breathing practice within a safe and welcoming community. After a brief introduction, participants begin a blindfolded journey, guided by a specially selected soundscape.

Reiki I Certification Class

Learn how to use your hands to direct the universal life force which causes all things to be alive. Reiki can restore calm, balance and harmony to the mind, body, and spirit. It is an excellent first-aid to assist yourself and others with stress, physical and emotional trauma, and anxiety.

In this class, which meets for two sessions, Sunday, October 26, and Sunday, November 2. You'll learn how to feel Reiki energy in your hands, and how to direct it for helping yourself, friends and family, even your pets. Everyone has the capability to experience and share Reiki. Our body has a natural ability to heal itself. By boosting the body with universal life force, we tap into our natural ability to heal ourselves and others.

This Reiki I class is the first of a series of three classes possible with Reiki in the Usui Tradition. It is step one: awakening to the energy of Reiki, with the side effect of learning to love yourself and others. It is a gentle, beautiful skill to learn and share with those closest to you.

The total cost of this class is $265, and includes two 6-hour afternoons. Both sessions are required for certification. The immediate $100 is a deposit and required to register. This is non-refundable. The remaining $165 is an in-person payment when you receive your individual 90-minute Reiki treatment with instructor Lisa Betz-Marquez, who has been practicing Reiki at the master level since 2005. You will receive your training manual at the time of your private Reiki session. Once you have registered, you need to schedule your 90-minute healing session with Lisa, which must be completed before the start of the first session. Do not delay registration and scheduling of this session, for it is required before the class and Lisa's availability is limited.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Saturday, October 12. Class size is limited to 6 students.

Humble Warriors Veteran's Yoga Support Group is dedicated to fostering a supportive community that honors the courage of our service members while promoting mental, physical, and emotional well-being. By integrating mindfulness, breathing techniques, movement, and camaraderie, we aim to create a safe space where veterans can reconnect with themselves and others, cultivate resilience, and thrive in their journey beyond service.

Each meeting is a blend of physical practice, emotional support, and community, reflecting the mission to empower and uplift veterans through holistic wellness.

Our physical practice emphasizes mindfulness, breathing techniques, and movements that promote relaxation, strength, and flexibility. The practice is adaptable and is taught so members can be seated in chairs, or on the floor. Modifications are offered to for all levels of ability, to ensure everyone feels comfortable participating at their own pace.

After the yoga session, the group transitions into an open circle for discussion. This is a time for veterans to share their thoughts, experiences, or reflections in a supportive, judgment-free environment. Topics might range from managing stress and navigating civilian life to celebrating personal victories. The meeting concludes with a brief gratitude practice or meditation, fostering a sense of calm and connection.

Healing Sound Bath with Chakra Activation Meditation

Join Lisa Betz-Marquez with her complete set of frosted crystal singing bowls, each tuned to one of the seven chakras, for a deeply relaxing experience like no other.

Lisa will guide participants into a meditation introducing of each chakra, and using the corresponding singing bowl to activate each one. Once the chakras are activated, a healing sound bath will continue, helping participants to find deep relaxation as bathed in the healing sound vibrations.

How does sound healing work? Similar to how synchronized pendulums eventually swing in unison, sound waves can "entrain" our brainwaves, influencing their frequency and activity to induce relaxation and even sleep, similar to meditation or slow breathing.

Our bodies and organs, like tuning forks, have natural resonant frequencies. Specific sound frequencies can resonate with these, potentially stimulating healing processes and releasing blockages. This resonance effect is still being researched, but some studies suggest it might influence blood pressure, hormone production, and cell activity.

This immersive experience of sound waves washing over your body can be deeply relaxing and stimulating, promoting a sense of peace and well-being.
